Did you know that in the early part of the century, Augusta was the hub for the silent movie industry in Maine? In fact, many of those films actually premiered right at The Augusta Colonial Theater, with producers such as Edgar Jones and Holman Day leading the way. Some of those films still exist! To celebrate that legacy, we will be brining those films back to Augusta as part of our two-day Silent Movie Festival in June. Spend a weekend learning about the movies, the actors, and the lost art of silent movie-making! Your ticket will allow you access to a full program of events over the two days.
