Welcome to the Great Central State University Future Marauder! We are excited to have you join our community and are looking forward to supporting you in your academic and personal endeavors. As a new student, you are probably feeling a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and perhaps even a little bit of anxiety. That's completely normal! Starting at a new school can be both exciting and challenging. But don't worry, we are here to help you make a smooth transition. To help you get oriented, we have planned Student Orientation, Advising, & Registration (SOAR) Saturdays from 8 am to 3 pm in the Joshua I. Smith Center for Education & Natural Sciences building specifically for new students. This will give you the opportunity to meet other new students, as well as current students, faculty, and staff. You will also have the chance to learn more about the resources and support services available to you on campus. SOAR Dates are as followed: 1. June 24th - Specialty Population (athletics, band, choir, etc.) 2. July 8th – College of Business & College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences 3. July 15th – John W. Garland College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture & College of Education 4. July 22nd - Undeclared Students and Students Who Missed the Previous Dates. We are confident that with hard work and dedication, you will have a successful and rewarding experience at Central State University. We look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish in the coming years.
