Institutional bias can impede the treatment of co-occurring disorders through professional silos of education, certification, and liability. Individuals living with substance use disorders and mental health disorders often struggle to access services or the appropriate level of care needed. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to escalate the demand for co-occurring treatment services but systematically the division of mental health and substance use disorder fields continue to impact community health and wellness. This CHC is a continuation of an earlier CHC that focused on substance use disorders but identified institutional bias as the top regional priority.
Each participant will have equal opportunity to share their direct experience and/or work with individuals with substance use disorders and mental health disorders to inform future priorities and access existing resources.
Community partners attending are encouraged to bring materials related to their work to offer direct assistance and share during networking opportunities.

Community partners are encouraged to invite individuals with living with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, caregivers, and professionals that serve this population.
