Come on down! We've got 9 horses and ponies with great big ears and they love the soft sound of kids' voices. Bring (or borrow) a book and take a turn reading to a horse! Meet the herd and the HorsePlay staff. Admission is free with RSVP ON OR BEFORE MAY 18. Read to Ponies is held rain or shine beneath our covered areas. What is Reading With HorsePlay? We're an engaging, supportive teaching and tutoring program for readers of all ages and abilities. Together with a pony-partner, students advance through the five critical skills: phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. The movement-based model involves the whole body and mind. The horses bring a social/emotional connection, boosting cognition, retention and personal growth. All activities take place on-the-ground. There is no riding involved and no horse experience is required. RWH offers individual classes ,and small groups are forming now for Spring and Summer dates. Visit Reading with HorsePlay on the web.
