My name is Rahim English, founder of a Philadelphia based Organization called Pull Flags Not Guns. In a city that is plagued by gun violence this is an event that brings light to the city. It's a Flag Football event that has been successfully running since 2017. The idea of the event is to raise awareness of the gun violence that has triggered our neighborhoods and youth of today. We hold this yearly event to bring our youth together for a 1 day event and bring unity and peace to the people of the community. We have teams from all over Philadelphia that’s put together by young and older generations to play a game of Flag Football, Each year its gets better than the year before, last year we had our own Philadelphia Police to bring together a Flag Football team to come out and join us, as well as Council Member Cherelle Parker. In 2022 we also had the Philadelphia Sheriff's Department and News media 6ABC to come and speak to the youth. All proceeds from this event goes to Youth Organizations around the city of Philadelphia as well as Feeding the homeless, Bookbag Drives and so much more. With this one-day event of peace and unity we have sponsors from Food Vendors, Water Ice and games for the kids.
