Description

On Thursday May 4th, we are offering a Presentations & Speaking Workshop tailored for Taubman College faculty. The all-day workshop will be led by Paula Statman, an expert coach and experienced speaker. Last year's workshop participants ranked it either a 4 or 5 (on a scale of 1-5) for the value they received from the training, and all indicated that they would recommend (or advocate for) the experience to other faculty, academic leadership, or their peers. Attendees also left comments that included: "Wonderful! So much to absorb." "Great value. I loved it and found it a 'reward' after a long, hard semester. What a great transition to summer research." "Very helpful; this should be promoted regularly to faculty." "Coaching was very direct and productive." The workshop will cover: How to Engage Your Audience, Effective Vocal and Visual Dynamics, Writing and Speaking Concisely, Managing Speaking Anxiety, How to Think on Your Feet, How to Keep the Audience Engaged, and How to Make Your Presentation Memorable…as well as other topics, techniques, coaching, practice, and refinement. We are offering the workshop with Paula again this year (May 4th for faculty and May 5th for staff), with some improvements based on what we learned last year. If you attended last year and want to attend again, that’s great too!
