What is this? We're a group of Veterans and other supporters that walk (aka road march) each Memorial Day in Hastings, MN. We started this event to honor our fallen comrades, to remind everyone the meaning of the holiday and to enjoy a rare opportunity for us to catch up. We recognize our fallen comrades with Honor Markers placed on the route to honor them and to remind us all who we're walking for. To remind us all who the day is for. New walkers may nominate a new Honor Marker when they register(aka purchase your ticket). Check out the Pictures, Agenda and the list of FAQ below for more details. We start and finish at the Rotary Pavilion in Levee Park on the river. 7am meet up and get shirts. 730am step off. 11am finish & program. 12pm Legion's free hot dog grill out. Don't worry it's 3mph and we have a couple 10 min stops planned along the way. New this year! 1. We've cut the route from a 28 mile highway walk down to a scenic 10 mile river trail loop walk. So no more "it's too far" excuse. Easy! 2. We've also added a free Veterans Dinner the night before to provide another opportunity for Veterans to catch up while they're in town. 3. Our finish will coincide with the local Memorial Day program hosted by the Hastings American Legion. This means a much bigger crowd. Hastings is a very patriotic town. Now sign up!
