YWCA of Palm Beach County’s Racial Justice & Gender Equity Institute works to build collaborations and partnerships to reinforce policies that make Palm Beach County a safe and enjoyable place for everyone in our community.
The goal of our Annual Stand Against Racism Luncheon & Awards is to raises awareness, unite communities, transform systems and policies that perpetuate racism, and encourage businesses and individuals to take a Stand Against Racism. This year's event will focus on the Changing the Narrative: The Media's Impact on the Portrayal of Black and Brown People, and Communities of Color.
For more than a century, YWCA has advocated for the civil rights of marginalized communities, by identifying the challenges they face and working to implement programs & services to help them overcome those challenges. The goal is to provide the tools and resources women, children, and families need to become self-sufficient and independent. Our programs are focused on women’s empowerment, youth mentorship, housing insecurity, affordable child-care, increased access to affordable healthcare (including mental health services), gender equity, and racial and social justice.
