Time: 1-4pm
Enjoy multicultural food as we we address food insecurity in the spirit of Eid and other
Spring celebrations. We also pause to honor our late friend, family, and award winning
journalist, Lornet Turnbull who believed in inclusive and thriving neighborhoods.
May her legacy live on. Here is one of her articles from YES Magazine https://bit.ly/YESforThrivingNeighborhoods
All are welcome. We provide food and your potluck dish (if you can) is appreciated.
In the spirit of Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, bring seeds to share.
We welcome cultural recipes for our Youth Rising Cookbook.
Our food partner organizations are providing food (non-perishables) at the event
for you to distribute to those in need in your communities.
Together, we build peaceful, healthy, sustainable, equitable, resilient, and inclusive communities.
Food sovereignty -- the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food. It emphasizes
ecologically appropriate production, distribution and consumption, social-economic justice, and local food
systems as ways to tackle hunger and poverty and guarantee sustainable food security for all peoples.
GSBP believes youth to be innovators of the future with its Youth Rising program and mission to foster
