Please join the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and Cuyahoga Soil and Water Conservation District from 1-3 pm on Thursday, April 20, for a stream cleanup day in Highland Heights, OH.
Projects: Planned service projects include litter abatement and invasive species removal. These activities are subject to change.
Getting there:
We'll gather by the headwaters of the stream in a small parking lot, behind the brick building at 5603 Wilson Mills Rd in Highland Heights.
There is ample parking just on the other side of Wilson Mills Rd (address: 5604 Wilson Mills Rd). Please use the crosswalk when crossing that busy street.
The nearest bus stop is Bishop & Wilson Mills Rd on the 7-7A (Monticello).
Timing:
Please arrive by 12:45 pm for registration, light snacks, and opening remarks. Service projects will go from 1 pm to 3 pm. This event will happen rain or shine, so dress accordingly!
What to wear / bring:
Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. Our project will likely involve wading in a stream, so boots such as waterproof muck boots are encouraged;Long pants;A long sleeve shirt;Layers to stay comfortable while working;Your own water bottle(s);A small backpack to carry your gear (and extra snacks!)We will provide gloves, snacks, water to fill your bottles, and guidance to complete the project safely and with minimal impact to the site.
