This in-person class is for chiropractors who want to improve their newborn and infant evaluation skills, including in infants with feeding difficulties. Content is appropriate for both new and experienced pediatric chiropractors. This is not a technique workshop. Taught by Amy Kochersberger, DC, CACCP.
Participants will learn:
- Components of a complete infant examination from start to finish including intraoral examination, identifying red flags, and when to refer the patient back to the pediatrician or to a specialist.
- How to effectively document to identify diagnoses, create meaningful treatment plans, and communicate with other providers. Considerations for insurance billing in New York State.
- Objective measures of improvement to monitor as patient progresses though care, and how to discuss with parents.
- Clinical considerations of special populations including laryngomalacia, torticollis, tethered oral tissues (TOTs), and more.
