Description
The 2nd Annual Race Amity Festival is celebrated annually on the 2nd Sunday in June. This year we'll gather at Mariposa Basin park, 4900 Kachina St. N, next to Taylor Ranch Road, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
We'll start with an Indigenous Blessing, prayer and music by local Gospel Choirs and the Peace Choir. Join us for connection, conversation and getting to know a little bit more about friends we may not have met before..We're asking folks to bring a dish to share, especially if it represents something about your Culture or tradition.
We're especially excited to celebrate Black Culture & music as well as our Indigenous friends, the First Nations people.
Join us to celebrate our connections, collaboration and cultures, that represent E-pluribus Unum (which means "Out of Many, One") and is in our Constitution.
Youth who participate in the contest will be honored at the Festival. We look forward to hearing about their hopes and dreams for a more equitable and inclusive Albuquerque. They can mail their artistic work to Connie Knudson. Please email me at [email protected] for the exact address.
