Kristina Serafim, Managing Director, Verizon Ventures Kristina Serafim is a managing director at Verizon Ventures, focusing on early stage investments in deep tech, data management, infrastructure, ML & AI, 5G and the future of connectivity. Prior to Verizon, Kristina was a Managing Director at Intellectual Ventures, where she led investments in ML, vertical AI and immersive technologies. Kristina’s entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding and leading two enterprise SaaS start-ups, from inception to acquisition by global Fortune 500 companies. Kristina also spent several years on the strategy, ventures and corporate development teams at IBM and at NAGRA. She has an electrical and mechanical engineering degree from Kettering University and an MBA from Harvard University. Ekta Dang, CEO and Founder, U First Capital Dr. Ekta Dang is the founder and CEO of U First Capital. Previously she drove venture capital investments at Intel Capital. Dr. Dang has an excellent track record of achieving at least one exit every year: Pensando (Acquired by AMD in 2022), Nextdoor (IPO 2021), Palantir (IPO 2020), Orb Intelligence (Acquired by Dun and Bradstreet in 2020), Pinterest (IPO 2019), DocuSign (IPO 2018), etc. Dr. Dang is a member of Congressman Ro Khanna’s Leadership Circle and advises him on technology policy. She is also an advisor to the chancellor of the University of California San Diego and has been on the Science Translation and Innovative Research (STAIR) Grant Committee of the University of California Davis. She is also an advisor to Israel’s Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She has been a successful venture capital Investor, corporate executive, speaker, and writer in Silicon Valley for two decades. At Intel, she had solid experience both in venture capital and in operatoins. She brings a stellar network from the venture capital and corporate world to startups. She has been a mentor at Alchemist Accelerator, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Google Launchpad, etc. She has been a member of the US-level Technology Policy Advisory Committee. She is an invited speaker at several top venture capital/startup conferences, including TiECon, Silicon Valley Open Doors, and others. She has also co-chaired TiECon’s entrepreneurship track. Ekta holds a Ph.D. in Physics (Electronics) and completed UC Berkeley Haas School's Venture Capital Executive Program. She has published several research papers in IEEE and other reputed international journals. Ashish Aggarwal, Partner, Chamaeleion Ashish Aggarwal is a partner at Chamaeleon, investing in early-stage consumer and enterprise software startups. He's a Kauffman Fellow (Class 24), a founding member of VC3 DAO, and on the NextGen Partners board. With 17+ years of experience as an operator, entrepreneur, and investor, Ashish has led investments in category-defining companies and previously worked at Grishin Robotics, Opera Software, Dell, and Yahoo!. He started two companies in the Indian market and is an advisor to startups, VC funds, family offices, and accelerators globally. Ashish holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and London Business School, a MEM from Northwestern, and a BE in Information Science from RVCE, India. Matthias Weber, Venture Partner, Mighty Capital Matthias Weber is a venture partner at Mighty Capital where he focuses on fintech and insurtech. In addition, he is on the board of several Insurtech companies. Prior experiences include serving as Group Chief Underwriting Officer and member of the Group Executive Committee of Swiss Re. Matthias holds a master’s in physics and a PhD in natural sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. Moderator: Roger Rappoport, Partner, Procopio Roger Rappoport is a partner at Procopio's Silicon Valley office in Palo Alto. Roger advises emerging growth companies, from inception through exit, and the investors that finance them. He focuses on venture capital and angel investor financings (including convertible notes, SAFEs and other debt financings), mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution, development, manufacturing and licensing transactions, executive compensation, including the establishment of equity incentive plans and general corporate governance. Roger works with clients in a diverse array of industries including software (B2B and B2C), hardware, communications, internet, renewable energy, medical devices, med-tech, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. Roger was an entrepreneur for 10 years and is the leader of the firm’s Emerging Growth & Venture Capital practice.
