May Week is a national program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. that was created at the second national convention. A week in May is set aside for programs highlighting academic achievements to emphasize the importance of higher education in the community, especially for black women. Each year, the May Week committee chooses honoree(s) and works in conjunction with the Scholarships committee to recognize the honoree and scholarship recipients. The theme of May Week is Forward with Fortitude: Honoring Women in Education. This year we will honor Soror Dr. DaMesia Starling and Soror Carlette Mills.
