Chicago, IL – On Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 5:30 pm, the Kehrein Center For The Arts will open its doors to the community for a meal and the premiere of an award-winning Documentary: “Westside Stories: Paradise Lost.” This film depicts the Black family structure that is disrupted by a series of intentional events, which escalates into broken homes, poverty, and crime-infested neighborhoods on the West side. “Westside Stories: Paradise Lost,” one of several in a series of films, received “Best Documentary,” by the Crown Point International Film Festival. The Chicago Cultural Performing Arts Media Alliance, which also operates a youth violence intervention program, have partnered with the Kehrein Center For The Arts to make available to families and youth, information, and resources on mental health services, violence reduction services, and programs that they offer to youth and families in West Garfield Park.
