About the training: Within its Veteran Sponsorship Initiative (VSI), the VA Transitioning Servicemember/Veteran And Suicide Prevention Center (TASC) provides manualized, certification training to sponsors who are associated with community partners that have an active VA memorandum of agreement with the VA National Center for Healthcare Advancement and Partnership. The TASC coordinates with Teachers College, Columbia University, for the execution of the sponsorship training. The TASC also conducts research and program evaluation of the public-private partnership that exists between the VA, DOD, ETS Sponsorship (nonprofit), local community partners and other entities. The TASC assists in the creation and evaluation of innovative efforts to help transitioning Veterans access VA care and benefits.
