Come join the Griffin Environmental Council at the City of Griffin Heads Creek Reservoir for a trash cleanup event and celebration of Earth Day. Trash is a significant problem at the reservoir which provides drinking water to Griffin, Spalding County, Williamson, Zebulon, Concord and parts of Coweta and Meriwether County. We will be gathering at the reservoir parking area on 1250 Cheatham Road, Griffin, GA 30223 on April 22, 2023 at 9am to get cleanup materials and equipment. The group will split and part of the group will stay and clean the Cheatham Road site and the other half of the group will go to other locations around the reservoir and clean there as well. We will gather at the Cheatham site at 12pm to finish up.
The Griffin Environmental Council will provide trash bags, gloves, grabbers and reflective vests. Anyone cleaning at the secondary location will need to provide their own transportation. All volunteers are encouraged to bring a water bottle, hat, bug spray, sun block and protective clothing, including long pants and closed toe shoes.
Help us protect the water quality of our reservoir and celebrate Earth Day.
