Dr. Debora Duro is the Program Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical center in Ft Lauderdale. She graduated as MD from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, earned a Master of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University, Miami, FL. and thereafter obtained her pediatric residency at the Miami Children’s Hospital. She did her clinical fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA, and Massachusetts General Hospital, both affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. At Boston Children’s Hospital Dr Duro worked at the CAIR (Center of Advanced Intestinal Rehabilitation) for almost 4 years after completion of her GI/Nutrition fellowship and specialized in the care of children undergoing Intestinal Rehabilitation. She has a Master of Science of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition at FIU and certified Plant based Nutrition by Cornell University. She also has a degree as a culinary chef coaching at the Harvard Medical University and holds an appointment as an Associate Professor in clinical Pediatrics at both FIU and NOVA. Dr.Duro is the Florida Chapter at the American Academy of Pediatrics representative of the 4th district in FL and currently Chair of the Nutrition Committee of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
