The Cultural Events Board and Program Council are ready to celebrate the end of the year. With the excitement buzzing in the air of spring, we are happy to announce our lineup for The Spring Concert. The concert will occur on Saturday, April 21, 2023, in the Glenn Miller ballroom. Doors are scheduled to open at 7 pm, with music beginning at 8 pm. The event tickets are $25 for CU Boulder students and $35 on the day of the show. Tickets are $50 for the general public. Program Council and The Cultural Events Board are eager to announce that rap artist Cordae will be headlining The Spring Show this year, with the direct support of the rapper N3ptune. Cordae started out as part of the YBN collective. In 2019, he issued the singles "Bad Idea" with Chance the Rapper and "RNP" with Anderson.Paak. Both tracks landed on his official full-length debut, The Lost Boy. Released that summer, the album featured additional guests, Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, and Meek Mill guests. Later that year, Cordae received two Grammy nominations, for Best Rap Album (The Lost Boy) and Best Rap Song ("Bad Idea"). In 2021 the EP Just Until featured Q-Tip and Young Thug as guests. His major breakthrough came the following year with his Grammy-nominated debut album, The Lost Boy, followed in 2022 by his second studio LP From a Birds Eye View. The album featured appearances from Gunna, Lil Wayne, Eminem, H.E.R., and more, and made it to the number 13 spot on the Billboard chart, just as Cordae's debut had. Hailed as a “Denver Musician to Watch” by 303 Magazine, N3ptune is an explosive multi-hyphenate hailing from Denver, CO. A proudly queer singer/songwriter, producer, dancer, model, actor, and director, N3ptune is carving out a lane in Denver’s music scene, unlike anything that has come before. In 2021, N3ptune took it up a notch. From putting on a breakthrough performance at Denver Fashion Week to shutting down Westword Music Showcase to supporting the likes of Wyclef Jean, Sleigh Bells, Kennyhoopla, and Aluna (of AlunaGeorge), and receiving placement on syndicated radio, KTCL Channel 93.3 with his hit single “Black Horse” all in a matter of weeks, N3ptune has proved he is ready for the national spotlight. The Spring Show is Program Council’s last big event of the school year in collaboration with the Cultural Events Board. The concert closes off in the school year with live music. The event allows outgoing seniors and the rest of the student body to celebrate what the year has had to offer. Wristbands will be granted upon entry. Wristbands are needed for entry to the event. No re-entry will be allowed once attendees enter the venue and leave. Attendees can expect airport-like security. No bags larger than 4.5” x 6.5” will be allowed; all bags within this size range will be subject to search. Additional event policies include no skateboards, no weapons (including concealed carry), no professional photography or videography, no alcohol or illegal drugs, and no glass or metal water bottles. Empty plastic water bottles are allowed, as are factory-sealed, unopened plastic single-use, non-alcoholic beverages. Water bottle refill stations will be available at the event.
