Los Angeles based filmmaker, Tiffany Toney, best selling author, ground breaking actress, and writer-director has produced the highly anticipated film, Bora. If you have ever heard of the term, It's a Vibe, Bora is dripped with California Vibe. The film isn't yet released but has already caught the attention of distributors and the media after it's private screening in Los Angeles. Now, the film has secured a screening in Charlottesville, VA on Saturday, May 20, at the Vinegar Hill Theatre. Tiffany Toney, niece of boxing champion and legend, James Toney, was able to attract a star studded ensemble of features to appear in the film including, Zab Judah, Omar Gooding from Entourage, Noel G from Training Day, Jasmine Sanders from D.L Hughley Show, and the voice of Netflix comedian EARTHQUAKE, to name a few. Toney has previously served as one of the producers for NBC and America's Most Wanted. Her short film, "Jade Rising" won Best U.S. Sci-Fi in the 2019 Venice Shorts film festival. She also worked as the director’s assistant for Summer of Violence, a feature film by award-winning actress Nicki Micheaux, and made an appearance in LAZARUS, the 2017 Action Superhero feature by Sean Riggs (BOSCH), and the late R.L. Scott, which led to a multi-picture deal with Samuel Goldwyn Films. The story follows Elon, a USC grad-student who embarks on a road trip to discover herself on Day of The Dead. But when she meets “BORA,” an Afro-Mexican hitchhiker, Elon’s life takes an unexpected turn. BORA aims to liberate Elon from the burden of being sheltered by strict religion and a relationship with an overly protective boyfriend. Skilled at the art of seduction, BORA tempts Elon to try many things she’s never done before. However, Elon soon discovers that her girl-crush is a stone-cold killer. Get ready for a cinematic rollercoaster ride because this fictional story is “An Urban, Urban Legend and the perfect fusion of black & brown culture in LA.” The screening of Bora will be followed by a live in-person moderated Q&A with Tiffany Toney by award winning filmmaker and host of the Cultural Vibes Radio (WTJU). Doors of Vinegar Hill Theatre located at 220 Market Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 will open at 6pm and showtime at 7pm.
