Beloved Communitiy Coalition Quarterly Meeting - April 26, 2023 - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm CST - Avalon Manor Banquet Center, 3550 E Lincoln Hwy, Merrillville, IN 46410 Featured Speaker: Dr. Jerome Adams, former United States surgeon general and Executive Director of Health Equity Initiatives, Purdue University Featured Partners: Lily Foundation and Purdue University - Health Equity Initiatives " Our Voices Matter; Breaking Barriers to Inclusive Health Research.” The event will bring together Community and Faith-Based Leaders of Lake County to raise awareness and discuss the urgent need for community involvement in improving the trajectory of health (Health Equity) in communities across Indiana, including understanding community voices on health research. Goal: 1. Educate – Health equity and demystifying clinical trials (health research) 2. Prioritize community-centered discussions that give a voice to the perspectives and concerns of community members regarding barriers to health research ( clinical trials). Agenda (2 hours): • Opening Remarks/ Introductions (10 mins) • Fire Chat Discussion (25 mins) • Discussion Session/ Focus Groups (45 mins) • Lunch/ Q & A Session During Lunch (30 mins) • Closing Discussion Topics: 1.
