Clovis Community Medical Center collaborates with the AmeriCorps: Access to Cultural Healthcare program located at The Fresno Center to educate the community on significant health issues. In this event, Dr. Kent Bane, a radiation oncologist from Clovis Community Medical Center will be presenting on Genitourinary Oncology and Cancer Prevention, emphasizing on the kidney, bladder and reproductive organs. Dinner will be provided. Born and raised in the Central Valley, Dr. Brent Kane is proud to bring the most advanced radiation oncology therapies and procedures to the region. A believer in the team approach to cancer care, he is one of the original founding physicians of the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center. He remains on the Board of Medical Directors for the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center and is Vice-Chairman for the Community Medical Centers Breast Program Leadership Committee. Dr. Kane continues to teach the next generation of oncologists as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Site Director of Radiation Oncology for the UCSF Fresno Hematology/Oncology and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery fellowship programs. He has recently collaborated on publications regarding CyberKnife® stereotactic body radiation therapy. He continues to lecture other Central Valley physicians on the current status of radiation oncology and breast cancer. Since 2007, he has served continuously on several leadership committees for the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Fresno Madera Medical Society. During his time off, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their son. They enjoy travel, sports (baseball, basketball and football) and spending time on the nearby lakes on their boat.
