Here’s the itinerary: Saturday, May 27th: meet at McDonald’s at the north side of exit 42 (US 20 Marengo/Hampshire) from I-90 (Jane Addams Tollway). Ride departs at 9:00 a.m.; be ready to go with full tanks. The group will follow back roads/state and county routes to the lunch stop in New Glarus, Wisconsin (Glarner Stube is our customary choice but there are others as well). After lunch, we continue on to La Crosse. Your option: motel or camping (see below for details). Saturday evening, enjoy one of the numerous casual dining establishments in downtown La Crosse. Sunday, May 28th: Join or form a small group for a planned scenic ride. All the roads in the “Driftless Area” of Wisconsin are terrific. Plan to return to La Crosse about 4 p.m. Motel Accommodations: Radisson Hotel. This is a luxury property overlooking the Mississippi River and downtown La Crosse. Great food and drink at this fine dining establishment. Casual dress. Monday, May 29th: Breakfast, then head for home. Ride on your own or with others through the great two-lane roads of southwestern Wisconsin–or, if you have to hurry back, it’s about 4.5 hours on the Interstate to the west suburbs of Chicago. (Note: there’s a Hot Dog Ride on Monday if you want to stop there on your way back!)
