The City of Rochester, The Prairie Enthusiasts, Zumbro Valley Audubon, and Conservation Corp MN & IA have been working since 2020 to remove invasive species and restore native vegetation to Prairie Crossing Park. The 8.5 acre park was an Oak Woodland and Savannah prior to becoming pastureland in the late 1800's and 1900's. Come work in the shade of 150 year old White and Bur Oak trees while giving back to the community. We will be creating mulch walking trails to make the park more accessible.
Please dress appropriately for working outside; footwear, eye and hand protection are recommended. Please bring hard rakes, wheelbarrows, and pitch forks if you have the ability to do so.
