The Marine Resources Council is pleased to present MRC's Progress Report: A Lagoonside Chat. Join Jim Moir, MRC Board Chair and Interim Executive Director, to host this Lunch & Learn Seminar. The Presentation Features How we can work together to further the progress being made and restore the lagoon to balanceWhy we need to expand water quality testing in the IRLHow Low Impact Development can slow the flow of stormwater into the lagoon This Seminar is an in-person event that will also be available live on Zoom. All attendees must register through the orange "Register" button. The Zoom Webinar access link will be shared with attendees through the registration confirmation email, under "Additional Information". This education series is made possible by charitable donations. If interested and able, MRC humbly asks attendees to contribute toward fueling future Lunch & Learn seminars. Thank you for your consideration. Jim Moir is a husband and father, Florida native and resident of Stuart FL. for 31 years. Jim is civically engaged and passionate about protecting the Indian River Lagoon and it’s coastal margins. He currently is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Marine Resources Council and interim Executive Director. He has been an Appointee to the Martin County Local Planning Agency since 2002. He is the newest Indian RiverKeeper, a position that he has held for nine months. He is a member of the Leadership Team of the Rivers Coalition. He is a member and supporter of many local civic and environmental groups. Jim facilitates ocean science projects specializing in bioacoustics, marine animal surveys, and the deployment of autonomous vehicles and data collection devises. He is currently involved with several citizen science projects and marine mammal stranding networks, he often volunteers with coastal restoration efforts and exotic invasive species control programs.
