Join us as we dive into the topic of reducing waste in our congregations. Walk through a typical congregation’s activities, including worship, hospitality, and building operations, and explore how to reduce waste every step of the way. Hear what has worked in other congregations and share what is happening in yours. Program details -- In this 90 minute program we will start with spiritual grounding and a framing activity, helping us re-imagine a throwaway society and learn about the spirituality of simplicity. Then we will talk through typical congregational activities and the waste they produce, explore alternatives, and hear success stories from other congregations. We will finish with an optional 30 minute time for Connection and Reflection with other participants. Who should attend? Staff and Church Leadership, Building and Grounds teams, Creation Care teams, Hospitality and other ministry teams, and anyone who has interest in implementing waste reduction in your congregation.
