Join Shifting Gears as we explore our local berry farms by bike! This is a full-day trip that departs from Boundary Bay Brewery. From there, we'll peddle north to a couple of different berry farms where you'll be able to collect as many berries as you want - so be sure to bring containers!
We will visit two farms north of Bellingham. At each farm, we'll have about an hour to take a break, have a snack or lunch, collect some berries, and relax. This is a long day and we'll have two ride leaders to support you. Keep in mind that it is a long day (around 35 miles, 750ft). Please come prepared with a bike that works, a helmet, water and food, clothing appropriate for the weather, and a good attitude.
Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any comments or questions!
Participants will be emailed with more instructions as we get closer. We can't wait to ride with you!
About Shifting Gears:
At Shifting Gears, we focus on breaking down barriers that stand in the way between a person and their outdoor aspirations. At Shifting Gears, participants walk away with the skills and tools needed to attain their recreational desires and goals.
Whether it be learning to change a flat tire, going above and beyond physically by cycling 30 or 100 miles, locating accessible trails or finding a hiking partner, back or bike packing for the first time, inspiring goals, or just remembering how to play... our aim is to create a welcoming environment for all women to join in, learn, and enjoy.
