Join us for a fun day of volunteering to celebrate Earth Month!
Volunteers will work alongside the community to plant an additional 25 trees in Blue Island to reduce heat islands and create much-needed shade. Volunteers will help us to dig holes, plant trees, and mulch/water newly-planted trees. Distributing a variety of native saplings to the community at the time of the tree planting will build off the momentum of the planting event, enable resident volunteers to put their new tree-planting skills into practice as they plant trees around their own homes, and bolster the age and species diversity of Blue Island's growing canopy.
Meeting Point: Volunteers should park at the golf course (corner or Fairway Circle and W 123rd St) and walk to the south end of the course (across from the Meadow View Apartments).
