This class helps people understand how to balance, shift, turn, steer and stop safely, control your bike, and basic safety concepts, including laws regarding bicycling. Class takes place on a quiet, flat, asphalt-paved rail trail, where there may be other trail users, such as bicyclists and pedestrians, but no motor vehicles. Helmets required. Any kind of bike will do. Join us and learn how to get confortable and feel safe on your bike again!This class IS for you if: - You already know how to ride a bike - It has been a long time since you have felt comfortable on a bike - You just need a little help, advice & camaraderie with like-minded bicyclists to feel more comfortable and safer riding your bikeThis class is NOT for you if: - You are looking for a fitness ride (we’ll be riding s-l-o-w-l-y) - You are looking for a long distance ride (the distance will be short) - You have never ridden a bicycle (you must be able to ride a bike)WHEN: Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 -- 5:30pm to 7:30pmWHERE: West Side Ice Arena, 1 Electric Street, Manchester , NH. We will be riding on the paved Manchester Rail Trail (Piscataquog Trail).WHO: Hosted by the Bike-Walk Alliance of New Hampshire, your statewide biking & walking advocacy organization, taught by League of America Bicyclists (LAB) certified and experienced safe cycling instructors. COST: Class is FREE to all. There is a suggested $10 donation to BWANH if you like the class.
