Planter Box Workshop (ages 5-9)

In this workshop, participants will learn how to safely use drills and mallets to create a cute square wood planter box that will be assembled using dowels. After the boxes are built and decorated, participants will fill their planter boxes with soil and plant chamomile seeds that they will be able to enjoy watching in their planters at home. NOTE: This class is for Beanlandia members. If you are not a Beanlandia member but would like to take this workshop, you can sign up for a Beanlandia membership here. Beanlandia Workshops are free for members to attend, you just pay for the cost of materials for the workshop. About the Instructor Carrie Rasor is an artist and woodworker who is constantly exploring different mediums and materials to create with. She is passionate about teaching woodworking and creating a space for makers to learn and create. Carrie owns Community Workshop NOLA, a community makerspace located in the Broadmoor area, as well as works part time with two nonprofits, Dykes With Drills and 1881 Institute to teach people woodworking skills. Additionally, she is partnering with Beanlandia to bring woodworking classes for children through adults to Beanlandia members.
