Come and Grow: Potatoes is an introduction to successfully growing and harvesting potatoes in a home garden.
Potatoes have been a stable in the human diet since prehistoric times. Originally from Peru, potatoes cultivation has spread through out the world. It is perhaps the popular vegetable dominating plates in the United States .
Come and Grow: Potatoes is an introductory program on basic practices to grow potatoes in the home garden. By attending this program you will:
learn a brief history of the potatolearn best practices that will assist you in getting the most out of your potato plant including planting dates, planting techniques, fertilizing and watering requirementsbe able to identify key pests and diseases of potatoesThis is a face to face educational program that will conform to UF/IFAS and CDC COVID Guidelines on social distancing. As such, facemasks will be required and space is limited to 20 people per session. Due to this, we will offer 3 different session times. Please choose a ticket time that is best for your schedule.

Wednesday January 27th at 2pm
Thursday January 28th at 2pm
Thursday January 28th at 6pm
Individuals showing symptoms of illness such as coughing, high temperatures, or other flue like symptoms are asked please stay home. Please contact our office as soon as possible so we can make arrangements to get you program materials.
With your purchase of a ticket you will also receive 1 lb or Peter Wilcox Seed Potatoes. This is typically enough to produce 8 potato plants.
Tickets refunds must be requested by the close of business on January 26th at 5pm.
