Description

With the adoption of Chester County’s Climate Action Plan, abundant funding, and growing public support, there has never been a better time to take on initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. More and more local governments are taking steps to tackle climate change and are finding a need for more information, resources, and collaboration. To support these efforts at the municipal level, Chester County Planning Commission and the Chester County Environmental and Energy Advisory Board are excited to kick off a Local Climate Action Team – a cohort program for Chester County municipal governments that want to address climate change through municipal operations and community-wide actions. This program will bring together municipalities with similar Climate Action goals to:  Learn from each other and from experts about topics that are relevant to you;  Build capacity for taking on projects and initiatives that advance local Climate Action Plans; and  Create opportunities for collaboration and resource-sharing. Join us for a kick-off meeting on Thurs. May 4 from 5-6 pm at West Whiteland Township Building (or via Zoom) to hear an overview of Chester County’s Climate Action plan, brainstorm ways local municipalities can get involved, share topics you’re interested in learning more about, and discuss how this cohort program could help advance your goals.
