To spread awareness about how the invasive Callery (Bradford, Cleveland Select, Chanticleer) pear tree (Pyrus calleryana) causes harm to economics and the environment, Evergy, Deep Roots, and our partners are hosting our second Callery Pear Buy-back in the Kansas City area and Northeast Kansas.
Here's how to participate:
Cut down a Callery pear tree on your propertyEmail a photo of the downed tree (with a person in it if possible) to [email protected]inish your registration on this site. Show up between 8:00 am and 11:00 am on 05/20/23 to pick up your free tree.The offer is limited to one native tree per household.
When you register, you will be reserved ONE native tree. Available varieties include Serviceberry, Redbud, American Smoketree, Swamp White Oak, Bur Oak, Fragrant Sumac, and Baldcypress.
Tree availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations for specific trees.
Participants are invited to pick up their trees during the Lenexa Farmer's Market & Fair on May 20, 2023 between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.
