'Civil Rights & Seeds' with Monsoon and DMPL

Join Des Moines Civil & Human Rights, Monsoon Asians and Pacific Islanders in Solidarity, and Des Moines Public Library to honor AAPI Heritage Month! Children in grades 3-8 will learn about their identity, identifying their values, and what makes them unique. Des Moines Public Library will talk about services the the Library offers, bring books available for check-out or keep for all ages about Asian and Pacific Islander heritage, STEM kits, and provide the opportunity to get library cards. This event will take place at Monsoon's community garden space, and participants will be able to plant in the garden and learn about growing vegetables. Participants can also do a potted plant craft that they can take home with them! Due to limited space, registration for this event is limited to 10 children with no more than two children per family. Participants' parent/guardian is required to attend with the child.
