Join us on a journey to OSU-Cascades’ Water and Energy Technologies where lab director and engineering researcher Bahman Abbasi and his diverse team are working to create novel water purification techniques that can remove salt from water to make it drinkable and salvage valuable minerals from briny waters, such as fracking wastewater.
In a world where cleaner water is a precious resource, the WET Lab’s work has attracted more than $6.5 million in research awards from the U.S. Department of Energy and other sources, gained national attention, secured two patents for technology and launched a spin-off company, Espiku.
5 p.m. DOORS OPEN/ORDER FOOD AND BEVERAGES - Enjoy dinner with fellow attendees.
6:30 p.m. PRESENTATION - Presentation begins in Hop Mahal.
Science Pubs are where we take science out of the laboratory and bring it to the community. Join discussions with researchers from throughout OSU and OSU-Cascades about the work they do to help solve the world's toughest challenges.
Science Pubs are made possible with support from Worthy Brewing.
