TIME CHANGE NOTICE: the Trail First Aid course is now from 1:00-3:00pm and will be held at the main Bellingham Library's Lecture Room. The address is 210 Central Avenue, Bellingham 98225. We will have a WCDEA gemeral membership meeting for 30 minutes immediately to follow the clinic, from 3:00-3:30. Join us for a classroom session on Trail First Aid For Your Horse! We'll cover training and prevention, gear, medications and basic care, and actual examples of on the trail emergeny scenarios that we'll work through as a group. The goal is to get everyone out on the trails safely, and enjoying the incredible public land available to us in the Pacific Northwest! Ali Maynard is a life-long equestrian and currently manages the equine and agriculture education programs at Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park for the City of Redmond Parks Department. Ali grew up in Carnation, WA at Carnation Racing Stables, where her parents started, conditioned, and rehabilitated Thoroughbred Racehorse. Ali competed for the IHSA Team at the University of Washington and was a nationally ranked rider in Huntseat Equitation. She has also competed in Western Rail, Dressage, and currently can't decide on pursuing Ranch Riding or Fox Hunting in the near future. Venturing into the backcountry on horseback for the first time at the age of 7 with her folks, the mountains are always calling her. Ali enjoys trail riding with her horse, Jack, and can't wait until her daughter, 2-year-old Edith, is old enough to hear the call as well. Ali lives in Monroe, WA with her husband Eric, daughter Edi, dog Roxie, and the one and only, Jack.
