Free Child Autism Seat Belt / backpack Safety Strap Covers The Community Ambulance Company will be providing life-saving strap covers for children with autism that are designed to warn emergency responders about health issues. The covers can be attached to seat belts or other places like backpack straps with ease. The limited amount of covers are available. Please only register one per special needs child as to allow for other families to take advantage of this safety initiative. The velcro straps have a puzzle heart graphic that states “I have autism. I may resist help.” The straps are intended to alert EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement that your child may be unable to answer questions, non verbal, identify them as special needs and that they may resist help or assistance from strangers. The covers have bright, bold letters standing out on a white background to make it easy to read. If you have a child with autism, autism spectrum disorder or special needs or who is nonverbal can receive one for free while supplies last.
