ELMHURST, IL — An Elmhurst woman was arrested Friday on a domestic violence charge for the second time in a year, according to Elmhurst police reports.
Margaret Schmidt, 21, was charged with domestic battery and driving with a suspended license. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
About 1 p.m. Friday, police responded to a domestic dispute in the 100 block of South York Street. A man told an officer that Schmidt threw a fork at him, striking him and causing a small cut, police said. Schmidt left the area, but was later found.
In February, a victim told officers an argument turned physical when Schmidt placed her hands around the victim's throat in the 100 block of South Linden, according to a police report. When Schmidt was placed under arrest, she pulled her arms away and resisted officers, police said.
She was charged with domestic battery and resisting a police officer, then taken to the county jail, police said.
