We are so excited to announce “The 2023 Mele Manaka Community Celebration,” in partnership with SCP HILO HOTEL, Keaukaha General Store and Haku Collective. Our highly anticipated three-day event celebrating Hawaiian culture, live music and the arts, is free and open to the public on April 13th, 14th, and 15th at SCP HILO HOTEL from 9AM - 3PM. This three day community event will take place at SCP HILO HOTEL, formerly known as Hilo Seaside Hotel. This ʻohana event will include live music/entertainment, giveaways, free cultural workshops including lei making, t-shirt printing, coconut hat weaving and more, all taught by local artisans and community leaders. The three-day Mele Manaka Community Celebration is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Live entertainment will begin daily at 9AM emceed by Hiloʻs very own, Alakaʻi Paleka.
