We will gather in the Blue Ridge Tranquility Center, an open yoga/ exercise type space, to enjoy an evening together. This event was created after taking an Integrative Somatic Therapy Training, to better understand how toxic stress is held in the body. I had the joy of learning from people like Dr. Ariellle Schwartz and the founder of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Pat Ogden , among many other figures in trauma therapy.
The sound meditation is led by Christian Lannie, a healing arts enthusiast and massage therapist. Our time will be spent simply listening and embodying the sound performance. The art and science of sound medicine embraces the energetic anatomy of our body. Each bowl resonates with a different energy center. Our time together is grounded in compassion for self and community.
At Journey Well I am a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist ( LMBT#15807) who is interested in how the mind and body work together, and I DO NOT consider myself an expert in trauma therapy. I do recommend bodywork in conjunction with psychotherapy, as an excellent integrative approach in dealing with toxic stress and trauma.
This time IS designed:

- to build awareness of your body

-to SLOW DOWN
This time IS NOT designed :
