Series of interactive seminars to continue on topics relevant to the future of transportation in the Inland Empire The Leonard Transportation Center at California State University San Bernardino and HNTB recently completed year three of the Regional Mobility Dialogue Series, a series of interactive seminars on topics relevant to the future of transportation in the Inland Empire. Since 2017, HNTB and LTC have collaborated to bring together recognized experts from the public and private sector to discuss issues, opportunities and potential solutions to the region’s transportation challenges. “Working closely with HNTB for the past three years has been transformative for the Leonard Transportation Center and the Inland Empire,” said Kimberly Collins, LTC executive director. “The Regional Mobility Dialogue Series has been a success and impacted students and faculty, local governments, transit agencies, non-profit agencies, and regional and international companies.” The series offers political, academic, business and community leaders and students the opportunity to come together every two months to discuss the current state and future of transportation in the Inland Empire. Each dialogue has a relevant theme and experts share their perspectives through brief presentations followed by breakout sessions to explore the topic further and generate questions and ideas for further investigation. Selected topics address the status and future of mobility in the Inland Empire and have included transportation policy, congestion pricing, autonomous and connected vehicles, drone use, technology, logistics, land use, social equity and other issues. Presenters from the Inland Empire and Southern California have included leaders, board members and executives from San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, city of Rancho Cucamonga, OmniTrans, Foothill Transit, the University of California Riverside, Southern California Association of Governments, Southern California Air Quality Management District, Caltrans, and the California Transportation Commission. Each dialogue also included private sector representatives from companies like Lyft, Southern California Edison, Phoenix Motorcars, Token Transit, Amazon Web Services and HNTB subject matter experts. “We are very pleased with our valuable partnership with LTC and congratulate them on the program’s growing success and reach, averaging 50-plus participants per session,” said Greg Hulsizer, HNTB vice president and toll market practice leader. “Since March 2020, our dialogues have been virtual, and we now look forward to embarking on our fourth year of programming to continue to raise awareness and bring together participants who are shaping the future of transportation in our region.” About Leonard Transportation Center The Leonard Transportation Center (LTC) at California State University, San Bernardino opened in 2006 with a focus on regional transportation needs.
