This classroom-based workshop will be an overview of Rocky Mountain edible plants. We aim to intersperse brief lecture segements with lots of hands-on opportunities to process and taste abundant local foods. We'll be sure to cover a bit about:
Wild harvesting ethics Botanical ID and SafetyHarvesting methodsSeasonal harvesting: when&where nuts, fruits, seeds, greens, and roots become availablePreservation and cooking methods, including drying, fermentation, canning, steamingPlease bring lunch or snacks to class so that you can keep yourself fueled and hydrated while we teach!
This class will be held at an indoor/outdoor classroom space, and we may be inside or outside depending on weather. Please come prepared!
