Backyard Gold Mine (BGM), the newly-formed DePauw University faculty chamber music ensemble, celebrates the wealth of local art-making rooted in Greencastle, Indiana. Drawing from both the traditional classical repertoire as well as forging new traditions in collaboration with living artists, the core sextet—a “Pierrot” ensemble—features flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion.
The ensemble’s April 14tht, “What If?” showcases music inspired by possibilities.
BGM is co-directed by cellist Eric Edberg (Senior Professor of Music) and flutist Leo Sussman (newly-appointed Assistant Professor of Music), who are joined by their faculty colleagues Candice Kiser (clarinet),Teagan Faran(violin), May Phang (piano), and Ming-Hui Kuo (percussion).
