This one day seminar is a conversation between clergy and a Celebrant, discussing the changing needs of our families that we serve, incorporating the valuable lessons learned, offering skills and expanding the toolbox for embracing grief as a foundational aspect of the funerals we perform.
The invitation is extended to ministerial students as well as clergy and religious professionals from area churches, hospitals and hospices. The attendees will receive ideas, examples, resources and professional sharing that can be utilized as they enter into the sacred space of working with grieving people.
Our speaker, Glenda Stansbury, is a licensed funeral director and co-creator of Certified Funeral Celebrant Training. Her InSight Institute has been honored to train many clergy, chaplains, priests and other religious leaders who recognized their theological training may have left gaps in guidance in the area of supporting grieving people.
Glenda is a practicing Funeral Celebrant, working with families referred by funeral homes, and conducts an average of 2-3 services a week. She has officiated over 4000 funerals in the past 20 years. Her experience comes from real life, everyday realities of working with grieving families and creating funeral services for a wide variety of loss stories.
