Black Maternal Health Week Phoenix 2023 Held annually on April 11-17th, BMHW is a week-long campaign founded and led by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance to build awareness, activism, and community-building to amplify the voices, perspectives and lived experiences of Black Mamas and birthing people. https://blackmamasmatter.org/2023-black-maternal-health-week/ This year’s theme for Black Maternal Health Week is “Our Bodies Belong to Us: Restoring Black Autonomy and Joy!” What better way to celebrate and inspire a commitment to bodily autonomy then with education, education provided by community experts and delivered with love. Experience a Day of Awareness and Education with Arizona Birthworkers of Color! In this day long intensive, Black parents and future parents will learn more about Preconception Guidance Birthplace and Care Provider Options Maintaining a Healthy Pregnancy Labor and Delivery Insider Tips Designing a Positive Postpartum Experience The Keys to Breastfeeding Success Bring in your current birth plan to be reviewed and enhanced by our community’s pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experts. Don’t have a birth plan? No clue what it is? Let us help you make one. This is event is also for community members who are in the preconception stage as well. Start your journey to a safe and healthy birth now! All taught by Black Midwives, Doulas, Childbirth Educators, Lactation Consultants and other Professionals. It all goes down on Saturday, April 15, 2023 Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church We will begin at 10 am. Lunch will be served, and we are going to have a lot of fun! Please be advised that this event is exclusively for Black families.
