For the last few years, a Chuck Will's Widow has shown up at Tillinghast and we hope it does again this year! Besides the Chuck, we will hear Whip-poor-wills, deafening frogs, and a late Woodcock. Who-who knows maybe we will hear an owl.
Conditions: Part on the walk is on a nice dirt trail through growing pines. Part of the walk will be through a meadow that has low cut snags and possible holes. Hiking boots or sturdy sneakers are recommended. Total distance is roughly a mile. It would also be a good idea to protect yourself from ticks. If you have one, please bring a flashlight or a headlamp.
Directions: We will meet at the parking lot on Plain Rd between 7:30-7:40. There is an outhouse but be forewarned there isn't a light inside.
