PS/IS 180 Hugo Newman College Preparatory is a PK-8th grade school located in the heart of Harlem. This Lighthouse visit will focus on experiencing SEL through the eyes of our young people. Visitors will see a school-wide community with (SEL) interwoven throughout the day. They will learn how staff work to strengthen SEL competencies across a multi-tier system of support. This Lighthouse visit will highlight: SEL in a whole class setting through read-alouds and Morning Meeting SEL during small group academic instruction through WIN (What I Need) block How students are empowered through SEL How the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) data is used as a strength-based tool to build resiliency
