String bassist Paul Keller and vibraphonist Cary Kocher travel south from Ann Arbor, Michigan to perform with their Cincinnati jazz friends pianist Phil DeGreg and drummer John Taylor for a very special Kennedy Arts Center jazz concert entitled A Toast To Nat King Cole.
Keller and Kocher have an abiding love for the music of Nat King Cole; they’ve cooked up an energetic and entertaining program that spotlights the great songs and jazz stylings made famous by the King Cole Trio. You’ll dig the famous and familiar King Cole songs and you might even learn a new fun song or two.
Paul Keller is well known for his work with Diana Krall, John Pizzarelli, Eddie Higgins and a myriad of jazz luminaries. For 35 years Keller has expertly led his 15-piece Paul Keller Orchestra at Zal Gaz Grotto.
Cary Kocher is recently retired from a magnificent 30 year career teaching music in the Ann Arbor Public Schools. Cary is a valued member of the Ann Arbor Symphony.
The concert will be in Albert Harris Hall at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center’s Lindner Annex on Friday, April 14 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10. Free for Youth Jazz Cincinnati students and families.
