Join us for a night of creative entrepreneurship, innovation, fun, and inspiration as our top 8 UP/Start finalists compete for a chance at winning funding for their venture. $105K worth of funding is up for grabs. Who will take home top prizes and who will get YOUR vote for People's Choice? Be a part of the live action on April 11th at 6:00 pm! Doors open at 5:30 pm! And make sure to stay after for our reception for some delicious eats and great networking opportunities with members of the Baltimore community who share a passion for the arts and entrepreneurship. UP/Start is an initiative of MICA initiative that focuses on incubating and building creative business ventures within the MICA community. Working with industry partners, the UP/Start Venture Competition provides mentorship and capital to help nurture venture ideas into sustainable businesses. The Baltimore Creatives Acceleration Network (BCAN) is a BIPOC woman-led citywide movement to prepare, connect, resource, and inspire Baltimore’s artists, designers, creatives, and cultural entrepreneurs to own their genius, build mindful creative enterprises, and shape our future. Through business accelerator programs, creative coaching, networking events, and advocacy work, BCAN has supported over 2000 creatives in Baltimore. The BCAN community of creative entrepreneurs has gone on to launch new businesses, create local jobs, establish retail locations, and gain national partnerships and press.
