The Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James is excited to host Tortillería Semilla New Haven for a talk about native corn and food sovereignty, featuring tacos made with traditional handmade corn tortillas. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available! The mission of the Tortillería Semilla cooperative is to provide freshly made corn tortillas to the New Haven community, rescuing the culture and ancestral traditions of the cooperative members. The cooperative aims to create dignified jobs for immigrants and inspire others with solidarity. This event is sponsored by Reimagining Church, a program funded by the Lilly Endowment. The event is free, but donations to support the cooperative are encouraged.
